IOF detain international activists, children during West Bank raids

Israeli occupation forces abducted three Palestinian children from Kafr Malik, a village in east Ramallah, after raiding and searching their family homes as part of a detention campaign across the West Bank.

In 'Azbat Abu Hammam, south of al-Mughayyir, occupation soldiers detained four international solidarity activists attempting to document settler attacks and offer support to locals. The arrests came as occupation forces increased their presence in the area, reinforcing settler attacks.

Two Palestinians were arrested in Beit Kahil, northwest of al-Khalil, after their homes were broken into, searched, and vandalized by occupation troops. Two others were detained in Nablus after Israeli forces stormed several neighborhoods, including New Nablus, conducting house-to-house raids and damaging property.

In Beit Lahm, occupation forces stormed the town of Nahalin, deploying across several neighborhoods. Homes and shops were raided, and multiple residents were detained for questioning. Though most were later released, the operation marked a continuation of the broader pattern of raids, land seizures, and settler violence sweeping the West Bank.

Settler violence intensifies under IOF protection

In parallel with the arrest campaign, settler attacks escalated in several areas across the West Bank, particularly in eastern Ramallah and southern Nablus.

Armed settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, stormed lands in the Khalayel and Khalilah areas near al-Mughayyir, opening fire near local residents and their property

In Khirbet al-Marajem, near the town of Duma south of Nablus, settlers began placing fences around agricultural land in a move widely viewed as an attempt to seize it. According to Suleiman Dawabsha, head of the Duma village council, the targeted land lies adjacent to Palestinian homes and was attacked without prior notice.

Elsewhere in the al-Mas’udiya area, northwest of Nablus, illegal Israeli settlers physically assaulted a Palestinian farmer while he was working on his land, blackmailing him and forcibly removing him.

More arrests as 'Israel' advances execution bill

The ongoing attacks on the occupied West Bank, particularly increased arrest campaigns, come as Israeli media reported on Tuesday that a contentious bill moving through the Knesset would permit the execution of Palestinian detainees by hanging, contradicting earlier parliamentary statements that said lethal injection would be used.

According to Haaretz, the draft legislation explicitly specifies hanging as the method of execution, to be carried out by a specially appointed prison officer. The bill was introduced by far-right lawmaker Limor Son Har-Melech of the Otzma Yehudit party, led by Israeli Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and has advanced to its second and third readings in parliament, prompting intense political debate.

No date has been set for a final vote.

The report said the proposal grants the Israeli Prison Service commissioner authority to appoint the officer responsible for carrying out executions. The process would be overseen by a prison warden, a judicial representative, and a member of the detainee’s family, although executions could proceed without them to prevent delays.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons, which have long been documented for systematic abuse and widespread violations of human rights. Among the detainees are thousands of women and children. Many of whom are imprisoned without trial, spending years in detention as the occupation deliberately delays, withholds, or altogether avoids filing formal charges.
